Have a PC set up with no keyboard or mouse - MCE remote only. Put PVR2.exe in start up folder like I always have. However on boot up GBPVR starts but I can't access it with the remote. If I plug a usb mouse in then I can click a mouse button which then gives GBPVR focus and then the remote works.

Anyone know what I can do it make GBPVR to be in focus and just use the remote from the off.

you can run pvrx2.exe again after a while to regain the focus...Smile
just put some sort of delay in a batch file, and put a link to that in startup instead of pvrx2.exe directly..
you can use "ping 0.0.0.0 -n 20" to delay 20 secs before running pvrx2.exe again..
like:
Code:
start pvrx2.exe
ping 0.0.0.0 -n 20
start pvrx2.exe
or if you have a key mapped to start gbpvr on the remote, just hit that again after everything loads to gain focus...

or try setting up a desktop shortcut to pvrx2 with hotkey and modding the driver to make green power button start gbpvr..
look in my sig for how to mod default remote keys..["MCE no-software" page on wiki]

nothing wrong with the suggestion above but just for completeness, this utility below is designed to keep pvrx2 in the foreground (and restart if it crashes)

It seems like StartGBPVR is the way to go for you, but another possibilty is to change the remote commands from keyboard emulation to instead use SendMessage. That way GBPVR does not need to be in focus for the remote to control it.
