Firstly, MANY thanks to Martin and sub for their herculean efforts in bringing GBPVR to our TVs.
I started with an MVP and now use a PCH100. As a Kiwi, the PCH has a big hole in its repertoire, as we enter the digital age, in that most of us want audio as well as video from our live or recorded TV shows! The 'silents' disappeared 80? years ago.
So, I guess I would have to support the porting to the Hauppauge device for its HE-AAC support.
just saw the hauppauge 'digital media player' for $69 at Fry's [after $20 rebate tho]
is it supported/have any gb functionality yet?
biggest difference i see in this hw is the price...much less $$ than any other options..
availability and price should make this a real popular extender if the functionality is there...
I've tried to contact Hauppauge but have not heard anything. One its own the MediaMVP-HD is not worth considering as a media extender compared to other players on the market so it is not really a good value even at the current low pricing.
Price is only one thing I consider, I don't think $105 for a refurb A110 is too much of a difference for me to worry about and I wouldn't stop work on the A200 support ($180) even if Hauppauge does help, which I kind of doubt based on experience with the MVP; they never did provide me hardware info on how to program AC3 sync, just info on their code.
