SoftPVR installation problem

I have a Win7 64 bit system with a HVR1600 card and am having problems installing SoftPVR from a WinTV 3.4D1 CD.

Running SoftPVR_Update.EXE (version 2.5.25031 Jan 31, 2007) displays a message:

Your WinTV model type can not be determined. ... Debug Info: Last_HW_Model = 74541

and then exits. Disabling the HV1600 driver, as suggested in a Hauppauge FAQ, generates the same error message except the Last_HW_Model number is missing.

Both GBPVR and WinTV are installed on the system and work ok.

What is the procedure / trick to install SoftPVR?

If you've got an original CD with WinTV, you can just download and WinTV7 from the Hauppauge website, and it should install the components needed to get your HVR1600 going for analog.

My mistake .. I did not realize that the downloaded WinTV automatically installed SoftPVR. I had looked in the unpacked download and did not find the SoftPVR_update.EXE that was required for manual installation, so I tried, without success, the file on the CD.
