Now you have bought up "annoyances" I will agree with you there are still some MAJOR annoyances with NPVR on the NMT.............anyways the major annoyance I am getting with WR3 is when I am in Shoutcast & I scroll waaaay down the list to the 50's 60's 70's etc. & then select one sometimes it doesn't show any data & when I come back out again I am waaaay back at the top of the list so I have to scroll waaaaaaaaaay down again.....I guess that is actually two annoyances actually......or three if you add NPVR & the NMT Wink

If you want I can give you the 20 or so stations that Net Radio provided and you wouldn't have to scroll as far. Seriously, if you have any problems playing a stream open a new thread and post your log and the Shoutcast.com.70s.xml file.

However note if you hit Back that means exit, and I don't retain the your location, because the list is temporal and it would be a mistake to cache your row. If you go to the Main Menu to do something else, schedule a program, view pictures etc, your location while be saved because you didn't escape out.

No thank you I much much much prefer having a much larger selection to choose from thank you very much.

It's not playing a stream, it is getting the genre list to populate sometimes, often it will populate fine other times just a blank list.

I can sort of understand what you are saying but that isn't how it works throughout the rest of NPVR, if you go into Music say & scroll down & select an artist & enter it & then back out it remembers where you are in the list!?!? And it is sodding annoying in WR to have to scroll all the way down the list again.

It is only genre list that are an issue for your why don't you make a personalized list of shoutcast genres, like I did with ShoutcastGBPVR.xml? Surely that will only be a couple of pages of scrolling, once in a while.

I will argue that refreshing a cached list in GBPVR can be a pain too, if you do add music/video to the library, and the Internet radio lists are much more dynamic than most media libraries. If WR is that "sodding annoying" please don't feel compelled to use it.

Don't worry I already had it on my list to do list to re-order the ShoutcastGBPVR.xml to the order I want so it will no longer be as big an annoyance once I do that, but that doesn't help others that don't know how to change the order that it displays & that list is fixed so doesn't change & that is the list I was referring to that I thought it should remember where you were, not inside the genre itself, even if you scroll down & pick a genre & then don't find any stations that you like in the list when you back out you are right at the top of the ShoutcastGBPVR.xml list & have to scroll down again to select the next genre below the one you were just in.

Don't worry I won't feel compelled to use it, just like I didn't with WR2 & didn't use it. Although having said that I would say this comment wasn't actually very productive & if you don't want users to point out things that annoy them that's fine, but it would be nice to know that in advance before they waste there time!

Ok now I understand your issue better now, but it took this clearer third explanation. When I first wrote WR2 I had no idea how to write a GBPVR plugin or even how to program with C# or dotnet and there are a lot of quirks that I do understand, remain in the code. I'm sure you are aware that I still can't write a skin to save my life, and that WR3 wouldn't even exist without your help.

However what you consider pretty major, frankly I didn't even notice until tonight. I do know enough now that I likely will be able fix this, and it's probably pretty simple. I don't consider it a high priority, just a challenge, and I still don't understand the emphasis you place on how serious having to hit page a few times is.

I never said it was "major" that was the NMT & NPVR that has fairly major problems still, it is an annoyance nothing more & not a deal breaker probably more of an annoyance after scrolling down & selecting a genre & it not populating & then having to do it all over again with another genre in the hope it will populate so I can get something to listen to than it is on it's own. Just poke it on your to do list next time you are looking at WR3 is fine by me.

Jaggy I've been playing around a bit trying to work through the mess that the Shoutcast 2.0 introduction this week has caused (no connections, a new xml rss format being randomly returned) and as it happens last night I had your new Blue Retro skin installed and yes the limited visible rows yoy provide in the skin compounds any problem I have seen. I did have the change to return to the row but that wasn't good enough.

To work through big lists for skins with small lists, I will implement movement by % ie. 1=10%, 2=20% etc. It's probably useful for cover view too for anyone who might use it.
