Hauppauge Remote control not working

I can't get my volume/mute to work with my Hauppauge 45 key remote either.

Presumably NPVR processes keystrokes for this function too? Does anyone know what keys will work? I've tried all the obvious ones on my keyboard (and lots of less obvious ones), but can't find any key combination to work the volume....

Sorry, just seen this in another thread:

There is no built in volume control at this stage. I've been using an MCE remote, which controls the Windows volume control.

That would explain it!

I've been tinkering with my irremote.ini file for my Hauppauge 45 key remote and all the basics are working (apart from volume - see above), but there does appear to be something odd relating to channel changing. In my irremote.ini file, I had the following:

CHNLUP={pgup}
CHNLDOWN={pgdn}

However, during live TV, when I press Ch Up, it goes down & vice versa. I've now changed them round so that I have:

CHNLUP={pgdn}
CHNLDOWN={pgup}

and changing channels now works as expected. However, when I use Ch up/down in the TV guide, it scrolls in the wrong direction!

I've not seen any other posts about this - is it just me??

sub, I think there could be a bug in NPVR for the channel buttons as on my NMT & using the keyboard on the PC I get the exact same thing in the NowNext guide, I press the up button & it shows the data for the next channel down & vice-versa.

where do you people find the remote.ini file ?
I can't find it in NPVR,GB_PVR or WIN TV. Win XP and show hidden files is checked.
This the single most important thing for the complete switch over.

irremote.ini is a Hauppauge file. Its stored in C:\Windows or C:\Windows\System32 or something like that.

I had similar issues with the Hauppauge 45 button remote, but think I have worked through a number of the button codes. Here is what I am using:

Volume Control
VOLUP={app(0xa0000)}
VOLDOWN={app(0x90000)}
MUTE={app(0x80000)}

Channel Control
CHNLUP={app(0x330000)}
CHNLDOWN={app(0x340000)}

Play Control
REC={app(0x300000)}
STOP={app(0xd0000)}

FASTFWD={app(0x310000)}

Has anyone gotten the menu buttons working? Mine works for volume and skip forward and back and stop only if I'm playing a recording or a video. I can't go back to the main menu or navigate the menus without first going in them with the mouse.
