Wave - New skin for NPVR

It appears the patches fix the problems I was having. As for recreating for sub, can I send the same logs I sent you or do you want me to reinstall Wave and then send him logs. I rushed thru this and didn't think to keep the old xml files before overwriting. I don't mind reinstalling if needed.

EDIT: I have the original installed on another machine so I'll send over the logs in the pre-release area for sub.

It's odd, but the crashing no longer happens for me now. Without the patches, I still have problems with the Ready Recordings screen so that works but the crashing in Music and Videos is something I can't replicate now. Hope I didn't send you on a chase. I'll keep playing around and it if crops up, I'll post for sub to see.

This is a known nPVR quirk. The only way I've found around it, is to alter the formatting for the videos.xml.

Try the attached, it sacrifices the no metadata preview images size and positioning. But both previews should display by default i.e. without having to cycle through the views.

I have an external program that I released in the community section (Netflix TX Viewer) and had a request from my users to make my program more NPVR like in the graphics. I really like the wave graphic and I was wondering if I could have your permission to use your skin for my default program background?

If you want to give it a whirl, could you e-mail me (thm_gb@yahoo.co.uk) a description of what you're hoping it to look like or any screen shots of the program in action.

I'll send you over a copy of my program with a tester login for netflix if you'd like to give it a whirl (you can't watch movies using the account but you can see how the program works). See if you have any ideas, I greatly appreciate the assistance! I'll send it over after work tonight, though it will be early morning for you I suspect

That's a concious decision just for the moment.

I'm still working on how exactly to lay out the recordings plugin information area. Currently the show artwork is displayed both as you move through all your recordings and when you select a specific show. Since that area is also used for show descriptions, there isn't a lot of room to spare there. My personal preference is to have the show art work display as you cycle throw your different shows and then the description when you select one.

Was just going through all the postings for this skin.

My preference would be: show art if available else description. I have a lot of one off recordings and here in Europe for most shows there is now show art available hence my preference for descriptions. Have now removed the visible=@isItem for those entries in the recordings2.xml file.

I don't think the skin can work this way. It's set-up to show artwork for folders and descriptions for files. I felt it was the best compromise (I'm pretty sure Jaggy has also implemented the same behaviour for his skins). I think this will just have to fall into the "can't please all the people all the time" column .

Nothing solid on this yet. Form my messing around, the horizontal menu is far more polished as things stand. So I've stuck with that, but it is something I want to revisit.

My solution to remove visible=@isItem from the xlm file is then for me the best solution? In that case it shows descriptions for all items including folders.
