I'm preparing for the future by swapping out my existing MediaMVP and swapping in an EGreat NMT, but having problems getting GBPVR running on it. I've followed the Install Guide for Dummies, but perhaps don't yet qualify for that exalted status... Here's what I've done:

1. On the PC, I already have a working installation of GBPVR (version 1.4.7) and an mvpmc share, on Drive F, which my MVP has been using, so I know the permissions etc are OK. My PC has no local firewall on it. It auto-starts one NMT server.

2. on the EGreat, I've tested connectivity, & can see the PC and map shares on it. There's a share mapped to the mvpmc share on the PC. I've set the EGreat output format to 720P. My TV can support 1080 but I figured I'd match it with the 720 that mvpmcx2 will use for its menus.

3. run NMTInstall. I pointed that to my existing mvpmc share, on Drive F. I also supplied the MAC address of my NMT. I only installed the mvpmcx2 and NMT Setup sections, since I have an existing GB-PVR installation (1.4.7) that's working the way I like. It runs without error, & everything in the Details looks fine.

4. on the EGreat, I navigate to the mvpmc share and try to run GBPVR.html. I see the 3 choices. I try Open GBPVR via Network Browser. I get a message saying "Request cannot be processed".

Not sure where to go from here or how best to troubleshoot.

I've obtained and run NMTChecker, which gives the following output:

Anyone have any ideas on a course of action from here? Thanks in advance!

since posting this I found a thread on the "Request cannot be processed" message. Per the suggestion there, I can open the url "http://192.168.7.28:8883/network_share.html" and I can see the mvpmc share there. It's called "bart:mvpmc". Based on the info in the thread, I modified my GBPVR.html line to change "BART" to "bart" so that the share names match exactly. That helps, because now I can hit the "GBPVR" option on the EGreat and I get a message about loading mvp (although it never completes - I'll see what I can find on that now). However, the "GBPVR via Newtwork Browser" still fails with the same error as before.

SOLVED - found in GBPVR.cgi that the IP address of my GBPVR server was listed there as 0.1.0.4. Traced that back to the NMTInstall program, which seemed to believe that it was running on a machine with that address. No idea why that should be the case, but changing that value solved my problem!

Glad you found the solution, I have no idea why the odd IP was selected.

If your TV supports 1080 you are better off using 1080. Rendering of 1280x720 menus will be just fine. Most BD/DVD players use much lower res for their menus.
