Not sure if this will help you, but i am able to play all video samples i have + DVDs using my SAF5.

Looks promising, I'll give it a try. I still don't get why NPVR keeps crashing after Sub said that the decoders should'nt be crashing it, it makes me think something else is wrong. I'm not sure what it could be though, since this is all freshly installed, even the OS. I'll let you know how your SAF works for me.

Can you be more specific? What did you tryed to play?
Did you enabled audio passthrough durning SAF install?
Can you post your SAF and NPVR LOGs?

Tried both mpeg2 and h.264, no I did not enable passthrough. I threw the whole codec as far as I could and resorted to what I'v been using earlier, it works

Well,it is up to you, but this "not working" status didnt make much sence to me.
I was newer been able to reproduce such "general fail", but your logs can help a lot.

Uninstalled all codecs like the installler said to do, installed and configured as close to what was in the example as I could (looks like it was written for GBPVR), and now nothing works.

I actually just reinstalled Windows so I can try all of this over again. I'll let you know.

Ok, before I did a single thing to this system other than what is absolutely needed, I installed NPVR along with the SAF5 codec pack. I did not experience any crashing, and most all videos that I tried played Ok. There were a couple that had no sound, but I'm sure they probably need some other codec or there's something wrong with them, cause they are not the greatest quality. DVDs started playing the first splash screens, and then one stopped there and the other eventually got to the menu, but the menu didn't work. I was pretty happy with this so far, so I made a restore point and continued to setup my computer (set IP settings, joined to my domain logged in with domain admin account, etc.). After this it started crashing again.. very strange, I can't imagine which of those things would have any affect on this application. I restored it back and I am going to pin point where the crashing problem starts. I have a feeling its a setting in one of my GPOs.
