Hi,

Selected an HD channel from the guide, go the following error. Had to end task to get back to desktop.

Have checked the logs - nothing stands out.

I had this happen once before also, and a few people have said the same. I noticed that after starting and stopping videos, the memory usage looks like it goes up a little higher each time.

Hi all,

Happened again, this time on a different HD channel. Beginning to think it's a problem with ArcSoft H.264 decoder which I'm using.

Not sure if any help, here's a screen cap of my entire desktop.

Same problem here. Easy to reproduce, just play/stop/play/stop,... until alll memory is out.
I bet it is nPVR issue.
Playing anything in other player (Graphstudio, GB-PVR, MPC-HC,etc...),using the same decoders doesnot eat memory.

It's true, there is somewhere a leakage. Last time i watched an animated series, after nearly 40 episodes i got the out of memory error (npvr took at this time "only" ~700 MBytes from 2 available GBytes). It's the question, whose memory is short. *suspect*

I've just had this error. Had been watching a couple of recordings then flicking around live TV although I think it had been running for 24 hours and the kids watched a DVD earlier in the day. nPVR was using around 690Mb when the error popped up. There was still free memory mind you.

Got just again the out of memory error. But this time in combination with an GDI+ error message. Perhaps this is the area where sub could look into.

I got this out of memory error myself last night, first time I'd seen it. I've been running NextPVR.exe alone for awhile (that is, without NRecord), so NextPVR.exe has been working harder for me lately.

At the time of the error NextPVR.exe was using a bit over 800MB of memory, there was still plenty of free memory in the machine (windows said about 435MB available). It first occurred while playing back a recording; I was able to exit and get back to the menu, but when I tried to play the recording a few more times the error came up continuously to where I couldn't get back to the NPVR menu and had to end-task to get going again.

Are you guys using EVR? Does it make any difference if you try VMR9?

I would expect some increase each time you play a file (until its reclaimed at some later stage), but I wouldnt expect to see any significant increase after the first file (which loads the directshow DLLs etc into the process memory).
