here's an idea, no one gets to post on the forum without passing a Rush fan test. anyone who can't pass will have to purchase and view Beyond the Lighted Stage before being allowed to post again. that should weed out the spammers and other undesirables.

I think you failed the test Wink

Neil is Neil Peart, drummer extraordinaire who also writes almost all the lyrics for Rush. The lyric I mangled was from The Spirit of Radio, and was originally "for the words of the prophets were written on the studio wall". The line gEd quoted "undemanding contact in your happy solitude" is from the same song.

Is that Neil, as in Young? Solitude?

[Edit] No it wasn't? [EndEdit]

Please. There's only one Neil, and that's Neil Peart. The rest are just "other guys named neil".

Are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls
And whispered in the sounds of silence."

Maybe you could take another look at my test paper please... :p

I think I'm going to have to give ACTCMS a passing grade. I of course know that Paul Simon song, who doesn't, but I didn't know the exact words well enough to make the connection until now. Well at least you can't say Neil isn't keeping good company.

One of his early influences (sticks-wise) was Keith Moon, so he definitely keeps good company...

Of course, my Neil may be a different Neil! My 2nd Neil would be Peart. But my 1st Neil, would always be Young!
