I have things working pretty well with NPVR except that the menu screens are overflowing on my PCH...that is they're too big...the date is just barely visible and some of the items are cut off on the left. IIRC, the MVPScreenPosition plug-in could be used to adjust the screen size but I haven't used it for ages. Does it still work or is there an equivalent for NPVR/PCH?

No. but you should ultimately blame NPVR users who voted to abandon good overscan design practice followed by every other PVR package just to get a few extra pixels in this thread http://forums.gbpvr.com//showthread.php?...references, for this nuisance.

That is only partly the blame & would only fix it for a number of users, I have three different TV's hooked up, two to NMT's & one to an MVP & all three of them have totally different offsets & overscans.

I was wondering if it would be possible/work to do a (or a number of) background(s) with different sized boxs on it with suggested offset/overscan figures to make easier to get things setup right? As I have tried to write up a guide on how to do it a few time & keep running into the "it is rather difficult to explain in writing" wall Rolleyes

I disagree it would fix it for > 99% of users, but only if BBC and other standards are followed NPVR and GBPVR are the only programs that I know of that can look like sh*t by design. You don't know how many first time NMT users have complained to me privately about this step.

OK...well, are the MVPOffsetX & Y parameters in the config.xml file still used? I'm not above farting with them to see if I can get it to fit a little better.

That part of NPVR config is almost identical to GB-PVR's config, to be honest I just copied my offsets etc. from my GB-PVR config into my NPVR config.

I had to play with mine for my 32" sony vega, ended up with this:

<MVPWidth>620</MVPWidth>
<MVPHeight>480</MVPHeight>
<MVPOffsetX>10</MVPOffsetX>
<MVPOffsetY>60</MVPOffsetY>

Some of the menus are still bunched up, but usable.
What, me worry?

@roy are those on the NMT or MVP? On the MVP I would expect you could crash mvpmc on NTSC

Thanks roy I wasn't sure since this is the MVP forum. The NMT problem is my doing, I thought I was doing a good thing for skin designers by making NTSC screens run at 640x576 by default. It turns out many people don't understand this and on top of that NPVR works better with NTSC 4:3 resolution. The bottom line in my next release the default for NTSC will be 640x480.

Until then I would suggesting changing your dimension, since you are still corrupting the bottom. You want 2*yoffset + y = 576
