I had a problem when I moved to Vista. I do not know if windows acknowledge it though. The solution I came up with was to create a batch file that would run on resume that would restart the "Input Service".
does anyone know how to use IR Server to blast to 2 STBs?
In my "IR Commands" tab, I set up 0-9 IR Commands for 2 STBs (naming them differnently, i.e. 0C, OF, 1C, 1F, ETC.). Yet, IRBlast only seems to call a filename with the filename 1.IR, 2.IR, etc.
How can I get around this? I tried putting this in the parameters line:
-pad 3 -port Port_1 {channel}C
but that only worked for channels 1-9. Does anyone know a way around this? Right now, I can only blast the same commands to both STBs (therefore only changing 1 STB).
I have been banging my head for weeks trying to figure this out. Any suggestions would be well appreciated.
it's cmd line help is partially wrong, it's -port Port_1 not -port 1 like it implies in help..
also ,get the latest ver as next to latest port selection doesn't work..
[look carefully at the ver numbers, newest is lowest on post]
i also seem to remember working out the multiple stb problem...may have to use a go-between util or i'll make a new blaster for it..[like net2hipsend]
[i think it was running it all from a separate dir for 2nd stb]
i'm gonna make up a proper pvrx2 and npvr import .xml's as the ones i found were woefully lacking and some were just wrong..
it's the only thing i can get blasting in vistta/7 working in with ms driver, and it's interface isn't nearly as bad as eventghost..!
i'll also be updating the wiki eventually with updated info..

yep, i already have a working multi-stb blast helper... [to blast with more than one set of codes, for as-many-as-you-want stb control! still max 2 identical stbs.]
just have to append a stb name to beginning of .ir file's name...stb a would be a1.ir, a2.ir, a3.ir, etc..
i got it working using only a single call to irblast-nowindow.exe so speed seems unaffected..
latest version irss does have blaster port control working ... [at least for mce devices] 1.4.2.3598

here's my little multi-stb blaster app for IR Server Suite...
it allows blasting to multiple stb boxes, and has ir port,server,delay,pre-enter,post-enter,and post exit params..
[i normally blast channel,then enter,then exit to get rid of stb osd quickly- "irblast2 ch# enter=1 exit=1 delay=0"]
if only 1 stb then normal ir code numbering used,[0.IR, 1.IR, 2.IR, etc..]
for multiple stb's, prefix each digit with stb name...[eg: dish0.IR, dish1.IR, dish2.IR, etc..] and specify stb=dish for that example...
can be placed in any dir, gets irss path from registry..uses irblast.exe from irss to blast all in one cmd for speed..
i've been using for months without a loss yet..
it really works great if you exit the stb osd afterwards by making an enter.IR and an exit.IR and blasting those after channel changes...
pBS, what is the exact cmd line I need to enter in the parameter field of config for each capture source for your app? How do I define which port is being used?

I also can't get my MCE receiver to respond to any IR commands. I've tried the default and replacement drivers with no luck. I was going to try the registry change but I don't have a "HidIR" folder. Any ideas?

I have a couple of questions for setting up ir server suite.
1. After following the wiki, and setting translator to auto load, I can no longer call up the translator. When I try, it shows up in the windows task bar, but as soon as I hover over it, the translator icon disappears from the task bar. I don't know if it's erroring out or what.
2. The latest IR Server Suite does not use the IR Blast program that is referenced in the wiki. Does anyone know how to configure the new version for GBPVR (or NPVR)?
