I noticed my TV Guide had only a couple days of shows (normally 14), so I went into GBPVR Config and forced an Update EPG for one of my recording sources. While the dialog box said "Saving new listings and channel information", I got this error message:

Code:
Your EPG Source does not appear to be configured correctly.  Please check the EPG Source Settings and try again.  System.Data.SQLite.SQLiteException: The database disk image is malformed.
database disk image is malformed
   at GBPVR.Backend.Common.ChannelFactory.x<hex>(ICollection x<hex>, Int32 x<hex>)
   at GBPVR.Backend.Common.x<hex>.x<hex>(x<hex> x<hex>, IEpgUpdateProgressCallback x<hex>)
   at Config.x<hex>.x<hex>()

1. To which database does this refer? gbpvr.db3?
2. Is there a way to fix the database? Is there a repair solution? Will restoring a backup copy help? Must I reinstall things (ouch!)?

Any help would be appreciated. Logs are attached (I hope). It does not seem to be specific to a particular Recording Source. Moving the MovieWiz folder out of the plugin folder did not help.

History:
I've been running GBPVR v1.4.7 for months (years?) with no problems. Last week my Windows partition got partially corrupted, so I restored a disk image from October, but kept the gbpvr.db3 and config.xml files from the corrupted partition (hmm, maybe this is a huge clue?). Since restoring the Windows partition, I've also installed my sole plugin (MovieWiz v1.0.28.6), plus applied a boatload of Microsoft updates via Windows Update. I've got an HTPC cofigured as a GBPVR client, also using v1.4.7, and I also recently installed the MovieWiz plugin there, running in client mode.

Stats:
Windows XP SP3.
1x HVR1600 (analog recorder disabled), 1x HVR2200.
Schedules Direct (account is in good standing, lineup can be viewed via browser).

Yes, gbpvr.db3.

I dont know. If you have a non-corrupt version backed up, then you should be able to restore it. Otherwise you'd probably have to delete the corrupt gbpvr.db3 and run the config app to have it recreated, then setup your capture sources etc.

sub,

Thanks for the quick reply and for your awesome (as usual) help.

Since I definitely don't want to setup my capture sources again (I use NTSC analog cable, ATSC over-the-air, and QAM digital cable sources & program guides), I restored my most recent copy (Oct 31) of the gbpvr.db3 and config.xml files. The EPGs are now updating without error and I've got 14 days of future EPG data again.

The drawback of restoring an old database is that all recordings I've made since Oct 31 are not showing in the Recordings listing, even though the files are still there. Is there any way to import these "lost" recordings into the Recordings listing/database?

Also, I've made a LONG OVERDUE donation (sorry about the weak US dollar). Thanks for the years of GBPVR capabilities and support.

If you've still got the recordings-dump.xml which contains these recordings, then you should be able to use the Import button in the config app.

Thanks, I'll do that.
