Media Folder Structure, Best Practices?

As a newbie, Id be very interested in others experiences in setting up directory structures for various media. Im especialy interested in video...Serperate Movies from Recorded TV? Seperate each movie into sub folders?

I'm also interested to hear comments on using NAS on a 100BT network as a storage solution rather than internal harddrives

My HD Setup is in my sig.

All recordings (movies, TV, etc) are done onto the "recordings drive", then I use Video Archiver to pick and choose which recordings make it over to the more permanent "Archive Drive". By default GB-PVR will make subdirectories for each recorded program.

the way i designed "my videos" to work (doesnt have to be this way but how i intend most people to use it). have a few items on the virtual root eg
-Recordings
-TV Shows
-Films
-Music Videos
etc

then say under TV Shows have
- Angel
- Blackadder
- Coupling
etc
and if you have a few seasons/series of one of those shows have a few sub folders
- Season 1
- Season 2
- Season 3
etc

then the files in those directories.

For Films i just keep every video file in the same directory (only about 20 movies on hdd). so file structure something like

that's exactly what I do, even though I don't use the my video's plugin... just because I now have so many files that it needs to be well organised.
