I have GBPVR setup using the Analog HighDef Recording Plugin and the Hauppage HD PVR as the source.

How do I get the Sky channels/numbers into the config so that I can change channels with the built in blaster and record from Sky?

I have the blaster working OK in Windows Media Center but that software is way too processor intensive and I want to record in a non-proprietary format.

Why not switch to NPVR? It has really good support for the HDPVR. Be careful and apply the patches the HDPVR needs, which bring it almost up to the "great" levels of 1.5 betas.

Thanks for the reply Martin, does NPVR handle the Sky channel numbers then?

You configure your blaster on the Device. Change Changer to Executable, hit the button with ... locate the blaster program as Executable and add the arguments you need to tune, STB channel number is {channel} Then import you EPG and map.

Thanks, I now have the EPG in OK after importing from my XMLTV data file.

For the channel changer, there is an option for HD PVR IR Blaster, will that work?

Or, if I have to locate the blaster program, do I select the same one as in in the GBPVR install folder HaupBlast.exe ?

Also, the channel numbers in the EPG do not corresopond to the Sky channel numbers, how do I deal with that e.g BBC1 is channel 1 in the EPG but 101 in Sky.

I think it is a little confusing this bit Wink

On the channels tab in setup you see and can change the EPG numbers, but in the Devices tab, you see the Blaster number - which defaults to the same as the channel tab when setup.
So for BBC 1 on sky double click BBC1 in the devices tab and change the number to 101. In channels it should remain as 1.

Whoops - bugger, the above for NPVR - just a mo while I have a looksee.

For GBPVR
In the capture sources for your tuner device, you edit the number in the right hand column for the blaster channel.
To change the EPG channel number use the "channels" tab at th etop right of setup. This number is only used in the EPG.

Wow, so I have to go through each of my 310 channels and update the channel numbers individually? Ouch.

I think when I imported my 200+ channel XMLTV file, I just accepted the STB numbers and didn't try to remap them. Now I am not sure if you are talk GBPVR on NPVR, but if it is NPVR why not just try the import? If you don't get the blaster parameters right you will have to delete all your channels and reimport (that's why 2.0.x isn't "great") but it still is a quick test.

I think there must be a subtle difference between North American (as a continent) EPGs and the ones we get. There is no STB channel number included in ours at all so there is nothing to go by when initially setting up either gbpvr or npvr.

It is a painfully boring job setting them all up initially and also keeping track of changes - but changes are much easier to handle in npvr that the older gbpvr.
