Problem with live TV on DVB-T - No image, No Sound

Actually, I'm seeing the same problem on a couple of dvb-t hd H.264 channels. Only sound in live-tv, but if I record and play it back the picture is fine.

Try the ArcSoft Video Decoder for H.264 if you can. Thats what I use for H.264 and I havnt found any channels that dont work.

not working in livetv but working in playback, isnt that beyond codecs?

Its hard to know what it doesnt like. Its possibly something about the ub430af device, causing it not to deliver any data when NPVR does it's live tv tuning or something similar.

but the temp .ts file gets the data, in fact, thats the file that then i playback and works

Sorry, I'm not sure. It sounds like maybe decoders, but it seems you've already tried the same decoders that others are using successfully, so its not clear to me what exactly is not working. I assume you've tried other video renderers? (which can cause video decoders to behave slightly differently)

There is some registry settings that can be used collect some more detailed logs about what is happening during live tv playback, but I'm away from home at the moment and cant remember the exact registry setting names.

Yea i tried all with no luck.

I think the key here is:

1- Does playback and livetv use the SAME codec setup in the options?
2- If so, WHY when doing livetv there shows some other codecs/repeated codecs in the log than the playback?

Why does one just load a few and the other loads a lot of codecs, plus, what are this ones?

Its normal for those multiple audio decoders and audio renderers. Basically with live tv it doesnt know in advance what audio standards it will encounter (either on the channel you start on, or might switch to later) so adds each type of audio decoder, and an audio renderer for each.

If you want to only use a single audio decoder and audio renderer for your testing, you can go in to the Settings -> Decoders screen and set the other audio decoders to Disabled.
