I use both my PC (in my home office) and TV (in living room) for playback. So I need to change playback properties frequently.

Problem is that when ever I change the playback properties in config tool to use different HW decoder (none/pvr350) and audio renderer (internal/usb), saving the settings also restarts the recording service and kills my ongoing recordings.

How can I change the playback settings without restarting ongoing recordings?

They should not have any relation to each other (except that the config tool restarts the recording service even if I haven't touched anything else than playback settings), or am I mistaken?

There is only one config file that is shared with the recording service and the client. The config app rewrites all these settings when you click the OK button. It doesnt check each individual setting, so doesnt know if you've only changed playback settings. It has to assume you could have changed recording settings, so it needs to restart the recording service. Sorry, but I wont be changing this.

Thank you for your prompt reply.

Is there a way for ME to create an app/script to modify these two settings I change frequently?

Is it enough to change the settings in the config.xml file and not to restart the recording service but just restart gb-pvr?
