Locking a tuner across the system

I use GB-PVR, as well as DVB-Viewer.

I find that I sometimes ruin my scheduled GB-PVR recordings when I forget, and open up DVB-Viewer. This then causes the GB-PVR recordings to stop.

Is there any way to 'lock' the tuner so if any other process on the system (e.g. DVB Viewer) won't interfere with the current recording?

Not that I'm aware of.

For most devices it's 'first in, first served' so if youu were recording in GBPVR, then started DVB-Viewer, GBPVR would continue to record while DVB-Viewer would get an error when you tried to access the device (ie, wouldnt cause GBPVR recording to stop).

I haven't found that to be the case, if it was it'd almost be easier.

What I have found is that if GB-PVR is recording in the background, the recording will be corrupted/stopped by opening DVB-Viewer.

I have a dual tuner TBS card, not that I think that makes a difference.

It's probably some driver issue with that specific device. Most devices dont behave that way.
