I've just upgraded my setup and jumped across into NPVR from GBPVR. So much easier to install - well done.
I just bought a new graphics card (ATI Radeon HD 5450) to take advantage of HD decoding. I'm still running windows XP. I'm in Australia and running 2 WinFast DTV1000 Ts (i.e. digital). All the codec options are doing my head in. I want to make the most of the graphics card HD decoding and I've heard that SAF 5 has issues with that.
Can someone please advise what would be the best codec setup please?

Cheers,
Dan

On my XP system,
Cyberlink PDVD9 for mpeg2 (HD in the US, clvsd.ax)
MPC-HC filter for everything else (mpcvideodec.ax)
Haali media splitter for MKV files
ffdshow for all audio only

Try downloading CCCP codec package, I'm not sure if the Cyberlink h.264 decoder is in it, but you can get it from HD Pack (a small donation is required) at http://www.dvbsupport.net/download/index...gory&id=18, it is worth it Smile

I've done what you said, but I only get a MPC-ReadAudio Driver option on AAC and it doesn't appear for any of the other audio options. Could I have missed a step. So far I get ok playback of video, but no sound on livetv, and it takes forever to get the channel.

Are you sure you have AAC sound and not HE-AAC?

I've got MPEG1 Audio, AC3 Audio, E-AC3 Audio, AAC Audio and HE-AAC Audio decoder options, and AAC Audio is the only one I can get an MPC option for.

My question is what audio does your broadcaster use? AAC is very rarely used, most dvb-t broadcasts use HE-AAC, and you can forget about the decoder options for audio you don't use. (SAF is basically ffdshow, and very few has good experience with it).
