DVD from HDD playback

I am having difficulties playing DVDs from hard drive. Some play, some do not. VLC is able to play all of them. Is there a way to configure nPvr to use an external player such as VLC?

No, you cant tell NPVR to use VLC.

If you post the logs I'll see if anything stands out.

Maybe the not working DVDs are protected?

How are these dvd's ripped to HD?
