Some noob questions on GB-PVR with Theatrix

I am using a Theatrix 550 Pro with the latest drivers from Sapphire and the latest version of GB-PVR (downloaded yesterday 06/09), and I have a couple of questions.

1. When I switch channels on Live TV there's a loud surge of white noise. Does anyone know how to stop this from occuring? I've got an Audigy 2 ZS card and installed the latest drivers as well.

2. If I view DVDs thorugh GB-PVR they don't seem as bright or crisp as when I use the standalone WinDVD player. I have InterVideo's WinDVD installed as the DVD player. I have GB-PVR setup to use WinDVD, so I'm not sure about the disconnect. The picture on Live TV is also not as bright and crisp as the TV I have. Is there a setting on GB-PVR I need to tweak or better drivers I need to install?

1) I havn't noticed this myself, and dont know how you'd stop it.

2) see 1). If you're using the intervideo codecs in GB-PVR, then it should look the same as the stand alone intervideo player. I dont change anyting about the brightness etc myself, so it should be the same. You could try switching from VMR to Overlay, as some people claim this has a better colour reproduction than VMR. Intervideo's DVD player may be using Overlay.
