Is that where you data directory is? If not, update it to point to the correct directory.

NPVR on WinXP have some problems with install/uninstall. I already report similar issue to SUB. It is reproducable only on WinXP and only if you dont use default NPVR path. After uninstall, a lot of things remain in system, even NPVR rec. service is not removed. Maybe this caused your problem too.

And yes, install paths in registry are set correctly.

I think that durning uninstall NPVR use default install path on WinXP instead one from registry.

All of this remain in system after NPVR uninstall.

That's where the data directory is. Any more ideas?

To me it sounds like NPVR is not installed properly and not the DataDirectory. What do you have for

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NPVR\InstallDirectory

I just did an uninstall and reinstall. To uninstall I ran the uninstall program, but it didn't touch any of the data directory. I then manually deleted the data directory and all the registry keys. When I did the reinstall, a notice came up saying that the data directory was incorrectly set. It then told me that it was set to c:\users\public\npvr. I'm still in the process of reinstalling to see if this works, but perhaps this is a clue...
