NextBlue skin for npvr

Posted an update on the Wiki. (see first post for link)

Changes are as follows:

v1.3 (16 June 2011)

• Updated TV Listings plugin skin to version 3.5.
• Change background image to full screen
• Added popup menu bar
• Changed various clip art
• Added support for Music Box 4
• Added support for watched indicator
• Added video insert support
• Added Find All popup screen
• Miscellaneous other fixes and changes

I haven't really taken a thorough look at NextBlue before but because you took the trouble to add MB4 I had to take a look and I have to say I was impressed. The jukebox views in MB4 are excellent. I personally like to see more of the text for the non-selected columns in MB4 but changing the alpha value for ZonePosition to 125 gave me a look I like.

However I an seeing that in MB4 it needs a huge amount of memory on the PC, almost 300MB more than Default and I wouldn't recommend this for anyone with limited PC RAM. On the NMT it is better since NPVR memory requirements are MUCH lowered on an NMT but it still needs 100MB more. I only have 2GB in my machine and this might be the push I need to get more.

I do experience the same issue that I get on other skins expect Default and that is a large clickable area for the horizontal menu. I don't run full screen and I am used to clicking the screen to give NPVR the focus. My preference is to have the clickable area restricted to the menu bar. Whatever you do the vertical menu does seem to have this work correctly.

I am going to use it as my default for a while and may provide more feedback over the next little while.

That sounds like a excellent way to adjust the "grayness" to your own preferences.

You know I've never even look at that before although I have 3 GB on mine. I expect it's because of all the images that are used. I wasn't happy with NPVR's gradient drawing (too much banding) so I switched awhile back to using pre-drawn images. They also seem to hold up better over screen resolution changes.

I'm seeing that the memory usage seems to be additive with each new screen used and can become quite problematic over extended periods of npvr usage between restarts.

Note on fanart support: I've not tested it yet because I haven't figure out how it's suppose to work... any input welcome.

Great skin. Many thanks. TV Guide is great with the black background. And the vertical menus work from the settings. Nice.

I am guessing you have seen subs new Search screen. No rest for the wicked eh ?

Any chance sub can include Nextblue as a standard skin in the NPVR installation ?

Posted an update to the wiki. Changes are as follows:

* Added Search Skin
* Changed large amount of clip art images and background colors
