What exactly happens when a show is in conflict?

I had one show recording from 6 to 8pm with a 15 minute runover (yes, that's correct), and another one scheduled for 8 to 9 pm. I'm uncertain if the conflict showed up on the conflict list or not.

When I went to view the show, it cut off at 8pm exactly and the other show started recording.

Question A: Should this show up in the conflict section?
Question B: How do conflicts resolve? Is this documented anywhere?

Thanks for your time.

pre and post padding are only applied if the capture device is not booked to do something else. They're treated as 'desireable but not essential', and as such will not result in conflicts.

Would I need to set up a manual record (timeslot on a certain channel) if I wanted to ensure a pre or post padding?

Oh, also, do these "padding" conflicts show up as conflicts at all (on 0.92.11).

No it will not show up as a conflict. As I said above, padding is only applied if tuner is not already booked for some other task.

If you schedule two recordings 8pm - 9pm and 9pm - 10pm, each with 2 minutes pre-padding and 2 minutes post-padding, then the first recording will go from 7:58pm - 9pm and the second recording will go from 9pm to 10:02pm. I think this is the best way for it to behave, and it has done it this way for the last 18 months.
