Playback Problems with Colossus

I'm having a funny problem with several of my new recordings. They are made with nPVR and will not play the sound on these (one of them actually plays about 2 seconds of sound and then nothing. They play fine when played through MPC, but not with GraphStudio. Looking at the MediaInfo for the files shows that the sound is AAC, but the logs show that it is trying to render it using the AC3 encoder. My guess is that the first second or two has AC3 and the rest is AAC. MPC seems to go with the flow better and simply changes renderers. nPVR and GraphStudio seem to pick up the format from the beginning and can't deal with a change. Any suggestions for trying to fix this?

BTW, h.264 recordings in .ts containers. Not all recordings, but a significant number.

I just ran one through VideoRedo's QuickStream fix and that resolved the problem. Next I'll grab a chunk and get it to you.

I can see the problem happening, when the audio stream in the file switches back and forth between AC3 and AAC a couple of times. I had a quick try at fixing it, but it didnt. Unfortunately I'm out of time today.

toricred, are you recording via SPDIF , HDMI or analog? I don't see the audio changing like sub did, I do see the PAT change from AC3 to AAC. Do commercials in the middle of the broadcast change too? I am curious if the problem is because NPVR is starting this off as AC3 or if your STB source is changing the audio format from AC3 to PCM on the fly. What a nightmare this would be for many AVR's.

I am recording via HDMI. For some strange reason this only seems to work when it is configured as Component + RCA in nPVR.
