jorm Wrote:Your signature shows that you were getting object not found with guide2j. Can you send me the stack trace jared_dubin at hotmail.com

My last installation seemed really buggy to me with the "Object not set" being only one of the problems. Right now I'm working on a clean install of everything. I'll go ahead and reinstall and see if the error comes back. I do know it would happen if I made a bunch of changes and had a lot of programs scheduled to record through advanced scheduling.

jorm Wrote:It also shows that you dropped xrecord? May I ask what you did not like about it (besides the left arrow) ?

I wasn't sure what was causing the bugginess so I stayed away from everything. I'd frequently get errors when trying to update icons, but otherwise XRecord was great.

Another reason I stayed away was not wanting to dive back in to the CDKScheduler thing just yet. It got pretty confusing at the end between regularly scheduled shows (you can't do advanced scheduling through the web interface) and advanced scheduling. It was hard to maintain and hard to keep track of what couldn't record.

Also, Guide2J would very frequently not accept normally scheduled programs. YOu'd go through the process and either get an error or no error, but the program wouldn't appear red on the guide and there'd be no explanation.

I'll download the trio tonight and check it out!

I know that has been a while since you implemented it (v24?) but I wondered if you could change the lookup order for program art again - to look in the art folder first, before going to folder.png, folder.jpg and folder.gif.

It's just that I have changed my storage drive, and sometimes have the wrong folder.jpg auto-populated into the folders (I think this is from myvideos), which overrides the correct image from my art folder.

Also if you don't like the folder.jpg and use xrecord to download an image, you don't get to see it, as the folder.jpg has priority over the one in the art folder.

It isn't a biggy, and I just copy the image from art over the folder.jpg, but I would say that as you have to intentionally place an image in the art folder, that should be the default first place the plugin looks.

cheers,

tieke

CaptainVideo, if I ever get a spare moment again, I'm going to write up some sort of interface for setting up recordings through the Web Interface for CDK Scheduler. However work always seems to take my spare time now, so it may be a while, but it is on my own to do list.

Besides it'll finally give me an execuse to document the public interfaces for CDK Scheduler. If you or anyone else is interested in what is necessary or what interfaces CDK Scheduler provides, please feel free to ask away. The API is fairly small, but gives you access to all the functions you would need to create and manage the XML file without having to know XML.

Is there something that would cause an object reference not set to instance of an object error? I get it entering xrecord from the menu, but it's wierd, because it's not every time, and if you keep trying, you get in.

I will take a look at that today. I will also add the flag for the order of the images. And another one for what to do with Esc/Home.

Yeah they seem like valid requests. I will play with those this afternoon if work is not busy.
