NO LiveTV on Client

Before i would blame on codecs ( ;D ) i wanna know more about your setup. Specs of the server and client and which os you're running.
In general NextPVR is very stable, if it's running finally. And especially the server/client part is one of the most robust i've ever found. Of course i am using this on my own.

Btw., has anyone ever used a NVIDIA NVS 300 on his setup? I don't know much about this card. It seems to be a business one and if i remember correctly, the NVIDIA business cards have other strengths then the normal desktop ones. Only an idea.

Hey ShiningDragon, like you nikname BTW :-)

Server: it is not really server type hardware. P4 3.6, 1.5GB, Nvidia 8400. Can play HD, h264, LiveTV with NextPVR using about 4-5% of CPU.
Client: I tested and Win7 64b and XP32b (clone of P4) DualCore 3.0Ghz, 4Gb, NVS300 (tested and with Nvidia 6800 and 8400).
NVS300 is business graphics card, produce excellent video image, it is not a gamers card, but great if you are looking for quality.

Honestly speaking I think I'm missing something small and it drives me crazy :-) Can not get why VLC is fine but Next not on the same PC.

Its definitely something funny with the networking on your machines. This call to connect to the server is taking 15 seconds, when it'd normally take a couple of hundred milliseconds or so. By that time, the tuner would have been shutdown.

I'm guessing either a name resolution issue, or firewall issue (either client or server).

Discovery Canada Channel 520 from Sat receiver, No Firewall, No antivirus. Direct ip connection no any computer names

Stacks of possible reasons. Is VLC trying to communicate with your server machine on 7967 to stream video? Nope. NextPVR is though. That port could be blocked or similar.

Assuming you're using a software firewall, it could easily be applying rules to the various processes vlc.exe, nextpvr.exe, nrecord.exe.

sub, no firewalls on both sides at all, nothing just direct connection via 1Gb switch and both Client and Server have 1Gb network cards

Did you try \\ip\sharename notation? It could be problems with the Master Browser service.

Sorry, I cant give you any more detail, but it's definitely in that area. Those log messages narrowed it down to just a couple of Win32 API calls to open a network connection. For everyone else it's quick, for you it's slow. Its not a NextPVR issue. It's definitely an environment issue, somewhere in your networking, or with firewall/antivirus software.
