This may be a dumb question, and I apologize if it's posted somewhere (I did look and didn't find anything), but is there an approved "upgrade" method? I'm running an older version (2.1.5... I know, really old), and I was looking to upgrade to the newer versions with the web access capabilities. I was hoping there was a way to upgrade without having to uninstall the current version, install the new one, and then reconfigure everything from scratch because, to be honest, I don't remember all of the little configuration tweaks I made to make it all work.

Thanks in advance

To upgrade, you just run the start menu shortcut to stop nextpvr recording service, then run the new installer. It'll do an in-place upgrade, and all your existing settings will be retained.

Outstanding! Great to hear!

There shouldn't be any issues going directly from 2.1.5 to 2.3.6? Do I need to do any intermediate versions?

I have noticed a few/number of uses mentioning uninstalling etc. before updating recently, maybe it would be worth mentioning in the release thread/message that the installer will update a current install??

Yeah, I'll try to remember to mention it in the next release announcement.

<gentle cough> Myself I would make a copy of the database first "just in case" and this gives you a way back in the unlikely event of things going wrong.

I usually back up both the whole data- and program directory before upgarding, better safe than sorry Wink
