Can I schedule programs in advance? Like 2-3 days in advance? How do I do that? Let's say I'm leaving town for the weekend and I want to record a game or The Oscars or something. How do I schedule that? The TV guide only seems to cover 3 hours. Is there a way to browse several days in advance? If there's a wiki, just point me to it. Sorry if this seems like a dumb question.
You need to setup an EPG source. The default EPG just pulls data from the broadcast stream when it's available... on digital cable, I'm surprised you get 3 hours... many cable operators don't transmit anything.
As you smartly read my Tech Support sticky to get the QAM patch for your tuners, keep on reading to the EPG section. Also read the relevant section in the Wiki: http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...ration.EPG
The simplest option will be Schedules Direct, support for which is built-in to NPVR (http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...ulesDirect). You can get a 7-day free trial, which will actually get you about 3 weeks of EPG data.
