I already have GBPVR running with a NOVA-S-PLUS but happen to have an old NOVA-S laying around.

The hardware list says that the NOVA-S is supported but I am having difficulty getting the device to appear in the device list.

The log file only reports the NOVA-S-PLUS card.

Do I need a BDA driver set for the NOVA-S ??

I have looked high and low and tried various packages off the web - the only one that did anything vaugely useful came up as a "network device" under XP's device manager!!

Does anyone have a driver set for the old NOVA-S --- or am I flogging a dead horse??

Looking at the nPVR hardware list I'd face an even bigger challenge if I tried that :-(

TIA

The original Nova-S and Nova-T devices were repackaged TechnoTrend Budget devices. I seem to remember you could download their BDA drivers.

I had a look on their site and found what seemed to be the right package - but it was a guess because there was no way to tie up the Hauppauge device with theirs.

Predictably, XP couldnt match up the PCI IDs and wouldnt load.

Do you have a copy of a driver set that I could have??

TIA

Windows will only load the drivers if the device they're intended for is present.

No. I haven't used one of these in at least 5 or 6 years.

Wouldn't this be it? http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/site/support/...ml?prod=80

The readme is in German, but it does say it supports Windows XP.

I dont know. Those might be the drivers.

The early drivers Hauppauge supplied weren't BDA drivers though. It was only later TechnoTrend supplied BDA drivers. The original drivers used a proprietary WDM scheme.

yes, you're probably right... I was thinking the OP might have just missed those drivers in the Hauppauge list, since they're listed way down at the bottom away from the other Nova drivers, but after I posted I realized those drivers probably just aren't BDA drivers. Can't hurt to try 'em though.
