Recorded playback brightness

Is there a way to increase the brightness level during recorded playback only?

My recordings are darker than normal television viewing.

Check to see if your decoder has a brightness setting (they usually do). You might be able to change the defaults by hitting the [..] button beside the decoder name drop list in the config screen. ffdshow is very configurable.

Also, what are you recording with? The analog Hauppauge tuners tend to record darker than normal. The Hauppauge Tweak Tool can adjust those tuners to make better recordings. If you need it and can't find it online, PM me with your email address and I'll send you a copy.

I was able to find the tool, and the recordings are from a pvr150. Thanks for the help!
