Just as a quick note I have installed NextPVR on three XP PC's & assisted with two other XP installs & all have had no issue with DirectX, but all have had fairly decent vide/graphics cards for the age of the machine.

RE Sun Conure babies: Yep that clutch have long been with their new families & I have raised another (part) clutch since then (we pulled two for hand raising & left two for the parents to raise to allow Mum Sun to recover a tad before producing more eggs), some pic's attached of near the beginning of hand raising (I would say about three to four weeks after we pulled them) & not long before they left home.

Hiya Jaggy,

yeh I think I have been trying it out with Graphix cards that simply are too outdated. Now I see the issue! It is because I don't like spending money and continually pull old bits out from my storage boxes and think that they are of use Big Grin

But then I am from the old school, where we kept re-using things... I must learn new ways that stuff happens so fast now something that is more than 4 or 5 years old is pretty much defunct!!! hmmmmm, a hard lesson to learn. I've never owned a car that was less than 6 years old Big Grin

Great to see the piccies, have been dying to see how the last clutch got on, but now you are on the next.

Don't suppose you want to swap those lovely birds for a 9 month old baby?! (obviously joking before some internet police get me or something)

cheers

I think all that bugs me about this is that the dxdiag tests appear to show that direct3d v9 is all good.... on that machine, though be it only an 8MB card!!! I have also tried it on other machines with other cards, but once again nothing too spiffy.

The irk is that if dxdiag says it is OK, why is it not!!!

Will have to do more googling....

cheers

If the card only has 8MB, there is probably no chance it's going to work.

You might find if your desktop was configured for 640x480, then it'd reduce the backbuffer size, which might stop it failing. It may fail later though. You'd most likely require a better card, or just let it run without direct3d.
