Hi,

I have been experiencing problems with WMA files when trying to play them through the default music plug-in and the jukebox plug-in on my MVP.

The Problem is that the WMA files only play for a few seconds and then stop and once I have selected one WMA file, then try to play a different one, the first one starts to play, again, only for a few seconds and then stops.

MP3s however play absolutely fine. Smile

Has anyone else experienced this and/or know of a fix?

Thanks.

Seems to work intermittantly with the My Music plugin - sometimes when I switch it on it's OK, but other times it too has the same problem as my previous post.

Any ideas would be most welcome - I don't relish the thought of having to re-rip my CDs to MP3!

Aside from this it is an excellent product - Hauppauge's offering does not even come close!

There hasnt really been much emphasis on WMA support for the MVP so it can be a bit flaky. Support for this type of file was also only added very recently.

Are you finding it is just specific files causing problems? If so, email one to me at support@devnz.com and I'll take a look.

I have some MP3's but most of my collection is in WMA format. I am finding the same problem the other guy has. When I play wma's the track only plays for several seconds then it stops, it does the same thing with wpl playlists. When I am playing mp3's no sudden stopping occurs. This happens with both "Music Player" and "Music Library". Also, as with the other guy, sometimes it mysteriously works fine (But most of the time it doesn't). Also, my wma's play fine in the deafult MVP interface, but not within GBPVR.

When this happens, the stop signal appears on the screen as if I had pressed stop with the remote.

Thanks Sub for the response,

It happens to be all of the WMAs I have tried - not just a specific one.

I think I might start going to MP3 format anyway for other reasons but still interested if there are any developments. It's just a pain to re-rip.

I'm running GBPVR on Windows 2003 server with all the latest updates if that helps.
