ir transceiver not working after restart

Hi all,

can anyone help me - when i restart my htpc my ir transceiver stops working until i physically unplug the USB cable and replug it back in. I am using the receiver that came with my old Phillips 5100 remote (now broken) with a Logitech Harmony 700 remote. the OS on the machine is Win 7 x64... Not sure what other info might be useful but if anyone else has had a similar issue can you enlighten me Smile

upon closer inspection i have an unknown device sitting in the USB Controllers category of device manager - unplugging the receiver makes said unknown device disappear. when it is plugged back into the machine again the eHome Infrared Receiver (USBCIR) shows up and all is fine and dandy... F'ing computers !!!
