For me, I have the check box to use the green button. It will open NextPVR, but it opens in the background. So I need to click the program to bring it to the foreground. Any suggestions? I'm running Windows 7 32-bit using the Windows Media Center Remote that Happauge sells.

Thanks.

So I have a brand new MCE receiver and remote. It has HP Media Centre written on it and HP logos everywhere, but I take this with a grain of salt.
The remote looks similar to this: http://www.oneweb.co.uk/mythtv/wp-conten...remote.jpg

I have 2.5.5 + Patch set R1.
I have both Handle MCE and Start NPVR boxes ticked.

Pressing the Green windows button on the remote starts BOTH WMC and NPVR. WMC is in front.

I also have 4 buttons with icons on them. I think they are Recorded TV, Guide, Live TV and DVD.
Pressing the Guide button takes me to the Guide in NPVR, but starts WMC and takes me to its guide as well.
Similarly with the Recorded TV button.

I could remove WMC from the PC, but is there a way to disable this starting up process, without nuking it?
Everything would work well, I think, if I could do that.

You can disable MCE from add remove windows features (It will still be on the computer if you want to enable it in the future) - otherwise:

Go into c:\windows\ehome and rename ehtray.exe to ehtray.old (first you have to take ownership of the file using properties->security->advanced) It will not load and media center will not launch automatically. Media center will still work when launched manually.
It's not an overly complicated system - it's more - overly simple operatives  Huh

Thanks.

I am seeing the same behavior. I am using a Rosewill MCE remote and NPVR opens in the background when I use the green button. I am also running Win7 32-bit.

Thanks,

I'm still seeing the same behavior listed above. Logs are attached for starting NPVR with the shortcut and starting by the green button.

thanks,
pete

Unfortunately there is no log file for the tray app at this stage. I'll probably need to add one before we can work out what is happening with this.
