Have been a user of NPVR on and off for a long time and always reviewing latest updates. So, installed to test latest 2.5.9, want to checkout and assuming all okay want to commit to NPVR and move past Windows MCE finally.

I use XBMC that I am able to fully control using my MCE remote (RC6), but I am unable to control NPVR other than UP, DOWN, LEFT and RIGHT Etc? I.e. no, PAUSE, PLAY controls?

Any ideas?

Have tested the inputs using ShowKey and all work just fine, but I cannot get control over NPVR. I have checked and unchecked "Handle MCE Remote" also with no change.

Would welcome some support on this, perhaps its a bug but I would have expected to see some posts on the subject?

Thanks

I'm not aware of any issues with MCE remotes.

What remote are you using exactly?

Is the remote not working with NPVR inside XBMC or not working with standalone NPVR (or both)?

Thank you for replies Sub and Graham.

Using NPVR 2.5.9 standalone, have tried using with and without MCE enabled in settings.

Can only navigate using up, down, left and right and Ok button.

Cannot pause, play or control any parts of NPVR other than those mentioned.

I am using an original ms remote that fully controls Xbmc. I can pause, play and generally control, everything. In short the remote works as expected in Xbmc.

I am using windows 7.

Thank you.

Apologies, your absolutely right.

It is an original MS remote. Model no. 1039, and is RC6.

Its an original, supplied With remote, receiver and keyboard.

Thank you.

Thank you Sub.

Not sure why, but I uninstalled ehome drivers, pulled the USB from my media box which resulted in win7 reinstalling both and hey presto, its working?

Strange but true.

Don't understand why xbmc continued without issue but only after the above did it fix the remote for npvr.

Windows!!

So thank you for your support.

Question? I like the layout of npvr, reminds me of MCE and TV/guide interface. It works, It's logical and like they say if it works don't break it!

So on that basis, would it be possible to have this interface with xbmc integration instead of pseudo confluence styled layout.

Or are other plans in the pipeline?

Xbmc is a brilliant media solution but continues to lack a clean and use able TV interface, others develop such options but I've yet to see something that remotely reassembles MCE, NPVR is the closest I've seen!!

Thank you again.

there's a different xbmc plugin coming soon that is more "nextpvr within xbmc". there's talk about it in the General Discussion forum, I think mvallevand posted some videos of it. (see http://www.youtube.com/user/emvee2007)

Thanks Johnsonx42

Have seen these vids, a sneak peak. Hopefully closer to what I'm hoping for inside xbmc.

Replies always appreciated, thanks.
