Ah, I see - still took me half an hour to find the tuning folder anyway!

I don't know why I cannot adjust to NPVR - I just find it un-intuitive to use :-O

It seems to me someone is attempting to run different software without having a quick look at the Getting Started sticky (at the top of NPVR section of the forum) or having a quick look at the Quick Start section on the wiki as both tell you where the data directory is which is where the tuning folder lives..... I always find when I "more than have a play" with some different software if I don't have a quick look at how you are meant to use it I always get frustrated with it & actually it's "me" I should get frustrated with not the software.

Well NPVR displayed BBC HD but GBPVR does not (as yet).
I still support a GBPVR machine as it took so long to get my mother in her 90's to get used to it, all attempts at getting her using NPVR have failed.

Here's what NPVR's logfile claimed was scanned from the freesat tuning file.

I've not double checked everything yet, but I see regional BBC stuff (there is no regional BBC HD btw) and ITV HD variants (there's only 3). STV HD is listed as 3855 and isn't ticked by NPVR by default. C4 HD is conspicuous by its absence though - I'm checking that now...

Fixed now, and I've updated the tuning file in the other thread as well.

Ok guys - BBC HD and BBC1 HD working fine in GBPVR. It was the S2 part that was wrong (or wrong on my Nova HD S2 anyway!)
The correct tuning info is;
Code:
T:10847,V,23000,23,198~NID:0~ONID:2~TSID:2050~P:6940~V:5500~VTYPE:H264~A:5502~L:NAR~PMT:258~TXT:5503~PCR:5500~N:>BBC HD
T:10847,V,23000,23,198~NID:0~ONID:2~TSID:2050~P:6940~V:5500~VTYPE:H264~A:5501~L:eng(AC3)~PMT:258~TXT:5503~PCR:5500~N:>BBC HD (AC3)
T:10847,V,23000,23,198~NID:0~ONID:2~TSID:2050~P:6941~V:5400~VTYPE:H264~A:5402~L:NAR~PMT:260~TXT:5403~PCR:5400~N:>BBC One HD
T:10847,V,23000,23,198~NID:0~ONID:2~TSID:2050~P:6941~V:5400~VTYPE:H264~A:5401~L:eng(AC3)~PMT:260~TXT:5403~PCR:5400~N:>BBC One HD (AC3)
The important bit is the 198 instead of 70 for the S2 tuning. I did not try every number lol, I just tried 198 after reading this thread; http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...move-to-1N as I noticed the old Channel 4 HD used 8psk and very similar S2 settings to the new HD BBC stations...

198 vs 70 (if I've done the conversion correctly) only differs by pilot being on rather than off.

Code:
198
11000110

10 = 2 = 8PSK
1 = 1 = DVB-S2
00 = 0 = 0.35 rolloff
10 = 2 = normal spectral inversion
1 = 1 = pilot on

70
01000110

10 = 2 = 8PSK
1 = 1 = DVB-S2
00 = 0 = 0.35 rolloff
10 = 2 = normal spectral inversion
0 = 0 = pilot off

What I've never understood about any of this (regardless of not really understanding what the different parts mean) is where are you supposed to go to *find* this information (so you can convert it into a tuning string). The BBC don't cough up the full details as far as I can see, and none of the KingOfSat like sites do either. Someone must know?
