Sub, is there any way you can separate the changes you made for load speed from the experimental changes for timeshifting and submit those for build? The current production version is much too slow in my environment even on an i7 and the changes too important not to be included in the baseline going with Frodo.

The timeshifting features on the other hand certainly are experimental, the overall experience for me is not that good. Although it is nice to be be able to pause, navigation is so inferior to the NextPVR that I wouldn't bother with them. It may be my knowledge of how this is supposed to work, but I never know where I am on the timeline when I do navigate, (time on the left seems to be elapsed time in the show only) and most of the time during FF and RW I just have a grey screen so it is all guess work. Maybe other people with XBMC knowledge can shed some light on how timeshifting is supposed to work since there are positive comments on it, which don't jibe with what I see.

In the addon settings screen in XBMC, if you disable timeshift, then it falls back to using the same live tv streaming code that previous addon used.

I understand that, my point is you really need to commit the speed up changes for release. Otherwise you addon is ridiculously slow (I was 5 minutes on an OpenElec build)

Sorry, just re-read yout post. I will probably be asking for the current addon code to be merged in the next day or two.

Timeshift will be disabled by default at this stage.

i found timeshift works well on my windows machine, only had issue on my rpi, where i could pause it, but once i unpause it, it would play for about 20 seconds then xbmc would completely freeze.

im yet to try it on my openelec builds.

All I get is FF and RW and they don't work well. On your Windows PC can you navigate with the mouse, by time, or using the apostrophe?

Now that a new API is out and they are modifying the non-experimental repo so that it works with Frodo, what are your plans?

I haven't reviewed the changes they've made yet. Hopefully tomorrow.

Ok, good. I merged in their client.cpp changes, brought in src and 1.0.1.0 works well enough to test, but the LiveTV time doesn't update. Reading the commits, they might be smarter now about the OSD, fingers crossed, that was my biggest complaint on timeshifting.

Ok, I guess they changed the skin to show just the start time

[confluence/pvr] changed fullscreen osd to display the start and end time of the program, instead of player times

For me that is a step backwards so I changed the skin back.
