Hi,
I installed NextPVR on a desktop connected to a 1080P HDTV and the windows desktop resolution is 1920x1080. When I start NextPVR it's displayed properly on the screen in 1920x1080 resolution.
But when I watch live tv or a recorded show it displays the video in a smaller box with black borders on all sides. I tried all options under 'Video Render' but none of them solved the issue.
Can someone please help me?
Thanks.

That is typical for sd analog now that you probably are capturing 16x9 letterboxed. johnsonx42 gave some good posts showing some centre-cut options, but you might get better quality if you get your stb to output 16x9 and have a <hate> Hauppauge </hate> card that can be tweaked to capture 16x9.

Thanks for the reply.
I do have a Hauppauge PVR-500. Can you please point me some posts?

Sorry the analog PVR's don't support 16:9 just the HVR's.

Sorry, I think I didn't made myself clear. I'm not looking in to getting SD tv in 16:9. What I want is to get rid of the black bars at the top and the bottom. Sort of fill the screen with the video with two black bard on both the sides. When I was using the same card and tv with GBPVR I was able to get it done.

That's why I referenced johnsonx42's posts for F7 options. Here's one I found on a quick search http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...l&p=401745 YMMV

It depends on how the broadcaster is sending the picture. Sometimes we get 4:3 on the analog channels, with black bars ONLY on the sides. The picture fills the screen top to bottom. Other times we get a "shrunken" 16:9 picture, with black bars all around. My PVR cards record it just as it's transmitted. When we watch a show that has the shrunken 16:9 picture I change the screen option on the TV (Vizio brand) to "Zoom" mode and the TV stretches the picture so that it fits the screen perfectly (note that this will hide most of the NPVR onscreen menus because they're now "displayed" outside the viewable area. Switch the TV back to Normal to see the OSD properly again).

If I watch the channel directly on my TV (not through the capture card or the PC) then I can select options such as zoom, stretch or auto. while zoom and stretch well... zooms and stretches, the auto will fill the screen from the top and the bottom and will give black bars only on sides.

Did you try pressing F7 to cycle through the options.
