Tuner No Longer Available

The tuner not available is a byproduct of the issue I'm having also and it's because the tuner is continuing to record the channel even after I have stopped playback.

just updated to the latest hdhomerun prime firmware and am no longer getting messages of a lost tuner
i can stop the stream and change channels and all is well
though it does appear my temp file is getting filled with records

There has been a changes for the next release which should help for the situation where for some users the application wasn't aware of the connection closing, so devices weren't always freed up cleanly and sometimes channels weren't changing cleanly.

Excellent. Just had tuner not available throw again (basically the front end seizes up for a few minutes and then returns me to Live TV / TV Channels / All TV Channels

Any ETA on the new release?

I seem to have a different version of this problem, so if a new thread makes more sense let me know, but maybe this is related.

Running XBMC 12.1, latest, plugin is the NPVR that was included in the release. Turned off timeshifting.

I have a simple OTA antenna hooked up to NPVR on my main server which is running the client (I installed the latest rollup too).

I have only 6 OTA channels I want to get via the system right now. For some reason, 4 of them are working great, and 2 of them, when I attempt to tune to them, will either throw the "tuner no longer available" or just completely crash XBMC.

Without fail, the other 4 channels will come up and work perfect. As soon as I either flip or direct start with one of the 2 offending channels, XBMC crashes.

Could this be a symptom if the channels are not being received by the antenna perhaps?

I was never able to get NPVR to display natively on the server running Win7 (no codecs installed I guess)...What's the next steps here and what is it with just these two OTA channels causing this to happen?

It may be that the quickest way to solve this is to get NextPVR up and running with all channels and then deal with XBMC. Start the NextPVR client and make a recording from a "good" channel and a make a recording from a "bad" channel. Check whether the files created in the Recordings folder for each recording are zero bytes in size. You should be able to play the recording files in Windows Media Player without the addition of any extra decoders. Thanks, I'll work on that today and get some details.

One odd thing I noticed already was the recording I made was reversed for the two bad channels, in other words, when I recorded the one show on Bad Channel #1, it recorded Bad Channel #2, and vice versa. Not sure if that had any bearing on the errors.

So first I probably want to get that sorted out, proper guide data with proper channel, then I'll do as you say, and post a log from a recording of a good channel and a bad channel. Since I have a dual tuner, can I do both at once or would this be easier if I record one show, at say, 3 pm, and another at say, 4 pm?

Just upgraded to openELEC 3.0 and installed the latest version of nextPVR. I'm seeing two issues:

1) When I change channels, the files that were recorded hand around in my temp folder. It's chewed up GBs already

2) The stream sometimes just locks up - if I RDP to my nextPVR box and restart the recording service, then all is well (e.g. the lock unfreezes and I can navigate the UI)
