Okay, so I just added a HDHomeRun Prime to my setup, which includes a DCR-2650, and I'm having a bit of a problem.

When I tried accessing the Prime for live tv or recordings, I get 0 byte files. The firewall was open for the DCR-2650, so I knew it wasn't that. When I looked at the attached logs, I noticed that it was attempting to capture a stream from 192.168.141.82 - which is the address of the DCR-2650, NOT the Prime.

I don't remember having to do anything special to tell NPVR where the tuner was, and it detects it fine when I go into the setup and setup the device.

Thanks.

Are you sure you have firewall exceptions for NextPVR.exe, NRecord.exe and NDigitalHost.exe? That's the usual cause of 0 byte recordings. Having you tried giving top priority to HDHomeRun in Devices?

Yes, I was aware of that, and as I said, having another network tuner - the DCR-2650 - that works just fine, the firewall has previously been set to allow those programs. I didn't say so, since it didn't seem necessary, but just in case, I turned the firewall off to the same results.

And, as I said, if you look at the logs you will see that NPVR tries to capture data for the live tv/recordings from the wrong webaddress - 192.168.141.82, which is the address of the DCR-2650. The HDHR is located at 192.168.1.7.

Hi Tim, that sounds familiar.

I posted something along those lines last month here: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...ime-Win-8)

Unfortunately, I have not yet had the time to try out the new version.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the response. It looks like the two problems are at least related, happening in the same part of the code. Unfortunately in my case, the address being used is the address of my other 2 tuners, so I'd guess whatever sub added to the latest release for it to find the right address has grabbed this one instead since it probably looks like the right one.

I have looked at the code. I'm not really sure what to do about it though. I can't the difference between a DCR-2650 and an HDHomeRun Prime, and I need to do different things for both. This isn't a problem when only one of the two is present, because I do both and one of the two will succeed. Unfortunately with both devices present, the first method succeeds for both.

Probably would have been more straight forward if I had a similar setup here, but instead I have to develop by guess work.

It seemed odd that it was able to detect that both devices were there, but then couldn't tell where the one was, but then again I don't know how that works. Just for fun I took the 2650 out, and it was able to access the HDHR Prime, oddly enough (to my mind, anyway) using the IP address for my local machine (192.168.1.3) instead of the address of the Prime (192.168.1.7).

If there is anything I can do to help out, I'd be happy to try stuff.

It wouldn't be ideal, but you could configure one of your tuners to use SageDCT/Network Rrecorder until sub has a solution.

I messed around with that once when I was looking at recording Copy-Once shows with WMC, so I guess I can look into that again. Thanks for the suggestion.
