Tuner No Longer Available

Just upgraded to openELEC 3.0 and installed the latest version of nextPVR. I'm seeing two issues:

1) When I change channels, the files that were recorded hand around in my temp folder. It's chewed up GBs already

2) The stream sometimes just locks up - if I RDP to my nextPVR box and restart the recording service, then all is well (e.g. the lock unfreezes and I can navigate the UI)

Will post logs when it happens again

If you can reproduce the problem on a Windows XBMC install, with the updated addon from http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post454440, then I'm happy to help you work through it. Sorry, I know that's probably not ideal for your openELEC setup, but I'm not in a position to provide updates for this platform, so it makes it difficult to work through.

Any fixes will flow through to these other platforms later.

There has been a changes for the next release which should help for the situation where for some users the application wasn't aware of the connection closing, so devices weren't always freed up cleanly and sometimes channels weren't changing cleanly.

I've not commented / logged on it, but it seems that you are already aware of the issue

If it was supposed to be included, I don't believe it squashed the issue for me using the Prime cablecard tuner. If that's the case, I'll create and log the issue. The tuner light doesn't indicate it's "released" for 3-5 seconds after issuing a "Stop" within XBMC

If it's still in the works then I'm happy waiting. Since I rarely "stop" unless I'm going to use something other than live-tv altogether, it is not a pressing concern for me

Yes, it was included in 2.6.2 - but it's important to note that only half of the change was on the NextPVR side. The other half was in the XBMC addon. You need both for that fix. I have submitted the change for inclusion in XBMC, but they haven't merged it yet. There was a temporary updated Windows addon posted in another thread though.

Are you planning to doing anything with the sub3 repo? Your recent committ broke it so I can't build anything and I can't figure out how to revert whatever you did to a usable state.

There have been changes recently. The main branch is a copy of the upstream opdemkamp. The new 'frodo' branch contains code to be merged with xbmc Frodo.

Thanks I will target 12.2 for testing. I had update to 13 with the new ffmpeg 1.2 because it looks so promising, but I'd like to give this a try.

FWIW I have switched to an alpha build of XBMC (Gotham 13a3) for Windows which has v1.7.2 of the PVR addon and it works flawlessly with the 2.6.2 client. No more "tuner not available" messages.

XBMC itself seems just as (un)stable as 12.1 final so all good there.

I tried the same build on the ATV2 but unfortunately it looks like the ATV2 just doesn't have the juice to manage live 1080i TV

What changes do you find in ffmpeg 1.2 in the v13 of XBMC?

I just down graded from 13 to 12.2 and upgraded my HDHomeRun's to the latest firmware...seems to be stable now with no "Tuner Not Found" issues.
