GBPVR Playback Issues

Hello,

I am new to the GBPVR. Thank you for your well spent time and effort.

I am having difficulty displaying any video onto the TV. Everything seems to behave perfectly through the monitor. I have the S-Video output simultaneously displaying on my TV. Everything behaves as I'd expect it to (Smile), but when I try to play any video, recording, live TV, or DVD, the TV simply displays a black screen. On my monitor I can see the video playing perfectly.

Any ideas.

My configuration is as follows:

BIOSTAR M7NCG 400 (with Integrated nVidia Geforce 4 MX and S-Video Out)
Hauppauge PVR-350 (only using to capture Sad )
AMD Mobile running at 1.8 GHz
512 MB Ram
120 GB HDD

All replies are greatly appreciated ... I have scanned the forums to no avail.

Thanks

Its not really a GB-PVR issue. As far as GB-PVR is concerned, it's just displaying video on your desktop (which is working). Your video card or onboard video is then doing some magic to display stuff on your TV - this is the part thats letting you down...

That is unfortunate. Even though this motherboard does have the S-Video out, I think Biostar intended to not support it (per se).

If anyone has experience is this arena, please help me.

Sub: Thank you for your quick reply. Out of curiousity when I plays DVDs, should I be able to pause, fast-forward and such?

Thanks

I had the same problem when I was first setting up my radeon for tv out 6 months or so ago. IIRC, I didn't have theater mode selected. somewhere in your video properties, there should be a selection for theater mode. I changed it to same on all displays and I was off to the races.

Hey Guys,

I greatly appreciate the responses. I figured out the problem. As you indicated, I dug further into the video drivers ... I removed the BIOSTAR nVidia drivers I had and downloaded more recent drivers from nVidia ... the new drivers provide a TV option as a primary display. This has succesfully fixed the problem.

Thanks
