You might want to ask the question of the guys with 2011 devices
How well does your 2011 tv or bluray player work with plex?
The reason I say this is the 5500 was pretty useless for me in plex and here are the reasons
Slow response
Has to fiddle with buffers to get it to play
Won't play HD files
Remote starts to lag after about 10 minutes if playing
Other things that sucked
The tvnz on demand app had errors
Once I loaded plex and the NPVR app it had no memory left and since Samsung force all their rubbish apps that you can't remove your stuffed
