Thank you sub. Instead of the update, I unpluged those antique RCA plugs and replaced with a SPDIF cable. And guess what? PROBLEM SOLVED!

A couple of minor issues left, though.

1. In the now playing screen in live tv, broadcast hours are 4 hours later. A program scheduled for 4:00 is shown to be broadcast at 8:00
2. A couple of weeks ago, my left button stopped responding in NPVR only. Didn't change anything in my configuration. My remote control still sends the equivalent OK buton right.
3. Not really a problem at all, but... having a 58 inches plasma monitor, I would like sligthly smaller fonts in the main menu. Suggestion for an easy editing software?

Thanks again !

Great.

I'm not sure exactly what you're talking about. If the times are also wrong in your TV Guide screen, then it sounds like your PC has the wrong timezone set. After fixing it you'd need to do an 'empty epg' followed by 'update epg'.

Does the keys on your keyboard still work? I assume so. It likely something to do with whatever IR software you're using for your remote control. (nextpvr only really knows about the keyboard - your IR software is converting remote key press into fake key presses)

There is out of the box easy way to get smaller fonts on the main menu. You'd probably have to copy the 'default' skin directory to another directory like 'my-small-fonts-skin', and edit various files to reduce the font sizes. Don't edit the 'default' skin directly, otherwise your updates will be overwritten when you install the next release.

Every time/date are otherwise ok in NPVR.

I'll have a look, keyboard and remote control still work normally. The problem really seems to be limited to the left button. I suspected a material or IR problem (it's wireless) but a wired mouse behaved just the same. I will check out my drivers, but as long as my mouse behaves normally in windows xp environment...

same here, all times are shown in GMT (7 hours later in my case)

not sure how I didn't notice that during testing... I guess I just didn't use it much, I'm so used to using the full EPG (F1) because the old now/next guide was so limited.

also sub, the now/next aka "Now Playing" guide ought to wrap around like the regular program guide, can you make it do that?

Ah, right you are. The attached patch fixes it.

My excuse is that in NZ, when we're UTC+12, it's easy to overlook the times showing correctly but with am/pm swapped.

Unfortunately that isn't straight forward to change. The list control in NextPVR doesn't work that way.

well I guess you ought to talk to the programmer about that Wink Big Grin

no worries, wrap around or not it's much nicer than the old now/next guide.

OK

My mouse problem is more limited than originally stated. Left button still selects items correctly when navigating the menues. What's lost is the possibility of selecting a starting point in the video playback progress bar. As if the mouse doesn't see it anymore.

Thank you

Without logs we always have to guess, but you can't use a mouse for navigating live tv.
