Unable to record using xbmc gotham add-on

Hi Guy's,

Using nightly gotham builds, updating daily. Addon shows 1.95. which I know is 1.96. Running windows 8.1. When I select a program in the guide to record in xbmc, dialog asks yes or no to record I select yes, but nothing happens. If i exit xvmc and go to nextpvr I can set the recording ok. When I re enter xbmc it shows a recording is scheduled.

Are you using the default Confluence skin, or something else? I suspect it'll only work with Confluence. To get it working for another skin you'd need to create a skin file for that skin.

Thanks for the reply Sub. Yep worked under confluence. I use the ACE skin which has been updated for gotham but I guess not totally yet. But I have a work around without quitting xbmc. Thanks !

It's not really work for the ACE skin devs. Based on XBMC user feedback for series recording sub created and distributes a custom Confluence skin that works great for Confluence users, it needs to be hacked for other skins until XBMC

1) the GUI API call that sub calls calls the "Confluence" skin and not "skin.confluence" If that isn't fixed you need to rename the packaged skin folder and in Windows you need to respect UAT. Some skins will work with that change, you just will have the Confluence look and feel.

2) Some skins won't though because of colours and transparent values etc in the skin. You may find you have to overwrite the skin.confluence skin files with your own modifications to get it to work.

3) You probably want to save what you work during the nightly cycle since anything you do in step 1 and 2 needs to be done with each install.

The addon works great in Confluence but for a reason or another I need to use AEON MQ 5 where it wont work as it should. I am not confident enough in XBMC's workings and the above steps is a tad too advance to me, guess I have to wait until it is fixed.

In the meantime is there a way to get the "Old" version "1.9.5" of the addon? The new "1.9.6" is automatically installed in Magros' fast channel switching build and I have searched for the old one but cant find it or I don't understand how to get it.

I choose a program to record from the EPG and attempt to set the parameters (recurring recording or record once) only to be greeted by an error saying something on the order of "Your PVR backend does not support this feature". I am using the default Confluence skin. At the moment, I am unable to schedule any type of future recordings from within XBMC. I have not tried recording a program that is currently airing ("Now"). Is this the same thing?

You'd need to reproduce the problem and post your xbmc.log, and web.log+nrecord.log.

I have the same issue with Aeon Nox.

Is it not possible that the script works with all skins? These functions are by default in XBMC?

As soon as XBMC's PVR framework supports season recordings, we can remove the need for our own custom window and skin files.

In the mean time, if anyone wants to supply a skin for Aeon Nox, and any other skins, I'll include it with the main set of files, so that other users of this skin don't have the same problem.
