Cheers,
Jon

I just uploaded 2.2.7 1/2 an hour ago. Are you using NextPVR 3.2 or 3.1?

I believe I'm still on 3.1.1. I'll have a go with the latest version tomorrow and see if it helps.

Thanks

For 3.1.1 you need to go into the configuration and change to SOAP mode.

I did try that without success, however version 3.2 did allow me to access the guide and play a video stream. Then, as you said it would, the Live TV addon started working again! It fails with the "Tuner no longer available" message on the first attempt after startup, but thereafter all seems to be well.

Thanks for your help.

I'm getting this error "Tuner no longer available" too on Linux x64 (OpenELEC Gotham b5). I can't get LiveTV to work at all on two different OpenELEC installs (but works on Windows-localhost, and Android-Nexus7) even after the first error message.

Code:

Previously recorded shows playback perfect though.

This looks like the same XBMC/OpenElec issue that RPi users have sent logs for.

05:35:10 T:139840165734144 DEBUG: ffmpeg[13676700]: [mpegts] Could not detect TS packet size, defaulting to non-FEC/DVHS

The streams that NextPVR sends are correct mpeg-ts with the correct pack size.

How does the nPVR add-on send the LiveTV stream to XBMC?

I've tested the LiveTV streams by running the NextPVR app (on the Win server) and starting LiveTV ... then on OpenELEC I'd navigate to the folder on the server where NextPVR stores the LiveTV buffer and XBMC will play that file with no problems.

Thanks

It uses standard http but I think the problem is in the XBMC PVR manager. If you have a chance could you install the x-newa plugin and see if live tv works in "normal" or web client mode. X-NEWA streams using the same protocol as the XBMC PVR addon and it works for me when the addon doesn't. It would be interesting to see if the PVR addon works after you stream with X-NEWA.

X-NEWA works perfect (on OpenELEC) but the nPVR addon still doesn't work with LiveTV (same "tuner not available") even after starting streams in the X-NEWA addon first.

I finally got the Colossus to be recognized in WMC as a Bell STB and got the guide working (so I have been using ServerWMC pvr addon the past couple of days with no issues).

I did see see some changes in http streaming added in very recent xbmc builds. I would be very interested to here if the problemis fixed in the full beta4 ior rc1 depending on which OpenElec you are using.

I agree pvr.wmc is a very good solution for xbmc too, and it is really well supported by a large xbmc community. For North Americans with Win7 who only use xbmc it would definitely be my recommendation.
