How do I know if ffdshow is working?

I have installed ffdshow and checked off the option in the config to use ffdshow if installed but I don't know if it's working or not. In fact I'm not even sure what ffdshow is supposed to do.

Can someone help me out with my n00bie questions?

Don't use it if you don't need it. I do, and it's great for what I use it for. But I could say the same thing about a wood lathe, and if you don't have use for one, you wouldn't need one, either.

Go w/o it for now. If there's a question you have that FF would help fix/address, I'm sure it will be included as an option.

If you dont have ffdshow installed, then it'll do nothing.

If you do have ffdshow installed, then you can go into the ffdshow settings and enable the OSD. This'll place video statistics information in green writing whenever you're watching video in GB-PVR. Makes it easy to tell its enabled.
