Hello. I have a recording problem.

The tuner I bought is 'AVerTV M150' and the pvr software I am using is 'Nero Vision Express 2' that came with when I bought 'Samsung DVD+RW'.

It shows the TV fine but when I record, it stutters very much. There are many video compression options but it stutters with most of them. Rarely it goes smooth but the sound does not match well with video.

What would be the problem here? The software I am using? Because it is poor? Or is my PC? My PC's spec is ::Tongue-4 1.80GHz and 256MB RAM:::.

I think the software is the problem, so I am thinking to exchange the tuner to 'Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-150MCE' which 'GBPVR' suppoorts, then I can use 'GBPVR'.

Do you think it is going to help the stuttering problem?

the hauppauge cards are great. Your specs seem good. One think you can try is a different video or audio decoder

I am having the same issue with recorded video playback but my audio is fine. I think the issue may lie with the decoder - currently I am using NVidia decoder for both audio and video but I will be playing with these settings to determine exactly where the issue is happening. I have installed FFDShow and I have the option selected for playback but to be honest I am not sure what it does.. deinterlacing? looks like I have some reading to do but could this be causing/affecting the playback to stutter?

I use 2 pieces of Hauppauge PVR 150 with no problems.

I would guess on decoder or on a fragmented harddisk
Using DELL P4 1.5GB RAM 250 GB HD + DLINK DNS313 netdisk 1,5TB, 2 pieces of Hauppauge PVR150 w/45-button remote, 1 Popcorn Hour 110. Win XP SP3. GB-PVR v1.4.7 Plugins: Xrecord

Get a Hauppauge card - not so much becasue they would be better (I don't know the other company) but because it's essentially a "standard."

You're going to face all sorts of issues with the PVR set-up. If you keep this aVer card, the first assumption is going to be that the cards is somehow causing the problem. If you have a Haupp card, which is being successfully used by tons of people, you're going to be able to troubleshoot much more effectively with a large number of people maintianing similiar systems.

Quick update - I have since played with my settings - toggling between different decoders etc... turns out I didn't have FFDShow installed after all (must have been installed before I formatted and never put it back). So after turning this option on I now notice next to nothing for stuttering or motion blurring except on the occasional file playback. Hooray for FFDShow Wink
