I hadn't quite understood from the description exactly what this did, but it looks like I'm basically running NPVR within XBMC, or at least looking at NPVR running on the server (?).

Anyway the scheduling of programs via XBMC is basically non existent, so this looks like a solution to the missed programs I've had since moving from an NPVR front end to XBMC.

So the actual question is; are there any limitations to XNEWA compared to running a full NPVR client, or are they basically identical as far as functionality?

Ok thanks. Web client can do pretty much everything that NextPVR can, even running many plugins, I regularly use YouTube and WebRadio. It can't do animation and there it doesn't support NextPVR delayed screen writing and no PIP. To use all NextPVR keys on the keyboard and remote you need to do some manual configuration.

The UI will run on Linux, Apple, Android, and Windows but there are playback limitations (and enhancements) that vary by xbmc capabilities on the platform. For best recording playback use shares not http. Playback keys are xbmc not NextPVR so jumping by time is implemented differently.

Does the web client work with XBMC running on an Android tablet? It is running on mine, but the nextpvr web client won't respond to touches

Right now web client ignores touches and single and double swipes but I am planning on introducing something. I've just redone the wifi in my house and have 4-5bar 802.11ac pretty much everywhere I used to have dead zones so it is something I will actually use.

Thanks Martin - could be very useful then.

Have you deployed multiple routers?

I am actually having difficulty getting the unique keys from the gestures but I will poke away at it. Edit turns out not many gestures are supported, but I have uploaded alpha5 that adds the arrow motions, tap for enter plus a long tap to get out.

No I split my house into two wireless zones, it is a one-story about 80' long plus several walls for the office'. I'm adding a VPN router (still configuring it, using an old router now) at the Internet demarc, turned my old router into an AP and added in a POE wireless access point for the extra coverage. I've added a wired switch at my TV/AVR but no more full blown HTPC connected there because I've found configuring WiDi as a second monitor on my laptop works great when I'm forced to use a PC.

Martin: Can elaborate on or point me to more info on the needed manual configuration?

I'm specifically interested in a way to set and clear the color dots on the recordings listings. At this point, that is the only functionality that we use all the time and that I haven't been able to figure out how to do with X-NEWA (in web mode).

I am a huge fan of wireless USB and BT keyboards with Kodi, so I just use Alt + Colour.

For the colour buttons on a remote it will depend on your remote, your OS and your Kodi keymap.xml Hit the colour buttons on the remote and post the kodi log file and I can see if the colours are coming in by name.
